The Press Agent

Emma Alvarez Gibson is a writer. She writes ad copy, editorial, fiction, taglines, press releases—everything but term papers and hyperbole (she finds the former boring; the latter, despicable). She also absorbs and analyzes media at an alarming rate. (Ads in particular.) She takes it apart, processes its individual components, imagines the conversations that led to the end product. (That’s in her spare time, yeah. It’s almost unconscious.) She has wordsmithed for indie businesses, PR and advertising agencies, film production companies, magazines, and for the automotive industry. Now, in a career accelerating move, she has written the press releases for Kay Kay’s Divorce.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Emma neatly disproves the silly notion that the City of Angels has no natives. She’s fluent in Spanish, semi-conversational in Italian, and a very fine mimic. The list of non-sentient things she adores includes her trusty Canon Rebel, a good gin and tonic, stories about Antarctic exploration, the words “foxy” and “madcap,” and her bicycle.
